Prickly cuteness
I can’t help but wonder what Seymour the wonder cat would make of this cute little critter. You don’t see hedgehogs around in urban areas so much these days. Back when I was a kid (you know, many, many, many years ago when dinosaurs walked the earth) they were a common sight in the garden.
Well that just sucks (ooh, a bad pun)
How ridiculous is it that Pharmac — the government agency that pharmaceutical purchasing agency — has decided to give the okay to government funding for flavoured condoms? It was just a few weeks ago that Pharmac turned down funding for 12-month courses of the breast cancer drug Herceptin and there have been many other controversial decisions

After much to-ing and fro-ing, and trips to Dunedin then back to Invercargill, and surgery postponements, it all happened today. My mother-in-law had her big op (heart valve replacement) and is recovering in Dunedin Hospital. They’d scheduled it for today but then said it would be postponed until next week because of the big norovirus
