Dear Healthy People,
We see you out there, going to the gym, munching on tofu burgers and meditating your way through stress and worry. So stop it!
Your healthy lifestyles that don’t feature junk food or cigarettes is causing you to live longer, thereby costing us taxpayers more money.
Yes, that’s right: a report from a bunch of medical gurus say a healthy person costs more in health care over their lifetime because they live longer. An overweight smoker might rack up a few bucks in healthcare costs over their lifetime because of their bad habits but they’ll cost less overall because they will cark it a whole lot sooner than a bean sprout-munching hippy.
So there you have it: being healthy is a costly exercise.
Maybe the government will legislate against it.
