Saturday got off to a sad start with a funeral but ended on a high note with a wedding held in my living room and attended by more than 100 guests.
No, I don’t have the world’s biggest lounge — there were actually only about 40 people there in the flesh, the rest attended via the internet.
The happy couple met online a few years ago and, despite being on opposite sides of the world, formed a close bond. When they realised earlier this year that they had become more than friends they decided they didn’t want to waste any time so the move was made and the wedding planned.
The blushing bride and nervous groom included all their online friends by hooking up the webcam and broadcasting the ceremony via the PalTalk chat program.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs W.
