Perfect way to unwind after a hard night at work
■ GAME REVIEW

TAO FENG FIST OF THE LOTUS, For Xbox, published by Microsoft Game Studios, rated R16, RRP $129.95:

Tao FengFrom fighting game designer John Tobias, co-creator of the legendary Mortal Kombat, Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus is a new kind of fighting game experience.

This isn’t a game for the younger set, hence the R16 rating. It’s violent, and pretty graphic. It’s also quite soothing after a hard night at the office.

On the streets and back alleys of New China, two fighting clans battle each other to uncover the ultimate prize.

There is a storyline but as with most games, it’s of minor interest. Yeah, you want to beat the members of the other gang into submission so you can get the prized tablet but really, it’s all about the fighting and not the story behind it.

Call it stress relief.

This is the most lifelike fighting game I’ve seen yet. The slick graphics mean if you beat your opponent to a pulp they really will look like they’ve been beaten to a pulp, complete with blood, bruises and more.

If you liked Mortal Kombat you’ll love this. It’s like Mortal Kombat with an attitude problem.
