Warm fuzzies

Cutsie animal photos and other fluffy stuff

Amazing photos of the natural world

If you’ve got some spare time up your sleeve, check out the amazing photographs of Birte Ragland Photography. There’s something here, from tigers and monkeys to landscapes, flowers, birds and the most incredible close-ups of insects and arachnids.

Cute (in a weird kinda way)

We have new arrivals at Wellington Zoo: pygmy marmosets. I don’t know about you, but I reckon they look a bit like a Furby, minus the ears. You remember Furbys don’t you? (Please say yes, or I’ll feel even more old).

These are pygmy marmosets. All eyes and sharp teeth, apparently.
Furbies: Batteries not included.

Fuelling my otter obsession

Anyone who was reading my weekly internet column during the time Jin the otter was on the run from Auckland Zoo will know that I developed something of an obsession with the adorable wee critter.

Now, I have her two nephews to obsess over. Her sister Jana became a mum to a couple of otter pups six weeks ago and they are very, very, very cute.

I wonder if Seymour the Wonder cat would be interested in a pet?

ON THE WEB

Seymour’s been surfing the net …

… and he found what he believes is  The Next Big Thing: Keyboard Cat.

This musical moggy has been mixed and matched with some interesting footage and now even has his own site.

Here’s what started the whole thing:

I feel it’s time …

for some cutsie animals.  I see you there, rolling your eyes. But I don’t care.

Apocolympic countdown

It’s nearly over.

Finally.

Is it just me, or do the Olympics seem to be going on for a very long time? Perhaps it’s because I’m not watching the Games but it really does feel like they’ve been going on for weeks, and weeks, and weeks, and … maybe even a month.

Anyway, I found some Olympic events that I wouldn’t mind watching. Who knew guinea pigs were so athletic?
