A trip down memory lane

Cassette and pencil Oh yes, how many times did I have to rescue a favourite tape that had become tangled and was about to be eaten by a wayward tape deck.

Even the arrival of my uber-mod Walkman didn’t stop it happening.

Oh, and for the young’un out there: a Walkman was kind of like an early iPod. Except it played just one album at a time. Actually, just one side of that album. And it chewed through batteries. I remember having to cart my assorted tapes and spare batteries around in a large army surplus bag.

Good times … good times …

I live in the deep south of New Zealand, where smelly dairy cows are taking over from sheep in the livestock stakes. My hometown is the small but perfectly formed city of Invercargill, which is also the hometown of the original boy racer, Burt Munro. Find out more about me here.
